Thank you for viewing our new blog. It is the desire of my family to let you know what is going on in our lives and how God is doing a mighty work within our family. Our desire is to let people know how God is working in hope that it might be an encouragement to someone else who is going through the same struggles. Since we are new at this, this post will be short but hopefully we will expand in the future. There is so much that God is doing in our life that once we get started it will be difficult to stop.
If I can sum up what has been happening in my family it would be described as a deeper love and dedication to the Lord. It all begins with genuine Bible study. By genuine Bible study I mean that we should read the word of God and ask how it applies to our daily lives. For example, does God have anything to say about how parents should raise their children? The answer is yes! You might think that everyone reads the Bible the way they should. I certainly hope that you do. However, in my life, this has only come recently. You see, I am a pastor of a Southern Baptist church. I have spent a lot of time reading the word of God and looking for a sermon to share with the congregation. Much of my study was centered around how I could help transform my congregation into the image of Christ. Then I realized that I needed to grow and that my family needed the word of God just as much as anyone else. I could not stand in the pulpit and preach the word of God if I was not willing to allow God's word to transform my personal life.
Well, this is just a brief overview of how God has transformed my life and the life of my family. I hope to be able to explore in depth what God has done and hopefully encourage others who may be struggling to live for God in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.
